i think it was early 2010 when i first started using hipstamatic. it came along before instagram and i loved the different filters and frames you can create by changing up the film and lens right within the app. it was a fun application, but after instagram came around, i all but had forgotten about this gem. i just recently redownloaded the app and have been playing around with it for a couple of days and i couldn't be happier with it. most of the apps on my phone are photo related and hipstamatic has found its place again on my phone. yay.
have you ever tried hipstamatic?
ps - other iphone photo apps i love {list is a little outdated but most are still relevant}
Have never heard of this before, might check it out!! The pics look great :)) xx
ReplyDeletethanks!
DeleteGorgeous pics. I forgot all about this app too.
ReplyDeleteso good to be using it again!
DeleteI remember it well yeah, we used to go crazy on those films and lenses!
ReplyDeleteBuckets & Spades
totally! i literally bought all the packs!
DeleteYeah same here. I played around with it but then went to Instgram, I should give it another whirl.

it's just as fun the second time around! :)
DeleteI use Oogl - the social platform for Hipstamatic. It has all the lens/film options of the original but allows for editing. My favorite by far!
ReplyDeletehow neat! thanks for sharing! i'll check it out!
DeleteI got into the Instagram game late, so I've never used Hipstamatic - love all the colorful tints!
ReplyDeletei love them too!
DeleteI am always late with trends and tech after all this time. There are so many photo apps out there I am amazed that Instagram stands out among the rest and beat the rest.
ReplyDeletei think instagram was able to connect to the sharing aspect of it quite early on! but i love using other photo apps that give you different feels and filters, but i do use instagram for my main sharing platform!
DeleteI've heard of hipstamatic but have never tried it. I'm just too married to taking photos with a traditional camera. I'm not even on instagram.
ReplyDeleteRowena @ rolala loves
wow! that's neat. i do miss taking pictures with my camera more.
DeleteOh yeah, I remember Hipstamatic... I used to use it when I only had an iTouch. May redownload it to my iPhone to have another go at it! Cool photos! :)

DeleteOh yeah I remember it! Loads of people use it but I've never given it a try

Deleteyeah I remember, never used it though...so cool!
ReplyDeleteit's a fun app!
DeleteThere are so many apps nowadays, I really don't know
ReplyDeletewhat to pick anymore. I'm sticking with Instagram c:
Xx
there are so many photos apps but i like using a few because they have different qualities and filters but for sharing instagram is my main go to!
DeleteI remember using Hipstamatic on my first smartphone, since it was one of the only cool photo apps available for Android at the time. But, since I seldom use my phone to take pictures, I don't really use photo apps any more.
ReplyDeletei think i rely on my phone too much. i miss using the camera more.
DeleteI didn't remember it!! Nice pics, btw :)
ReplyDeletexoxo
thanks!
Deletecool pics
ReplyDeletethanks
DeleteYup. I just used it today lol
ReplyDeleteneat! :)
DeleteYES! It was one of the first apps I downloaded as soon as I got an ipod touch (Late 2009). This was the first ipod I ever owned and the first with the camera. I didn't have a smartphone back then so wifi access + camera + in-app editing was a big deal.
ReplyDeletewow how neat! :)
DeleteOh gosh I get to upgrade my phone so I can play along with all your kids, looks like a fun World this phone photography business :)
ReplyDeleteit is! i also read a crazy article a few years back where newspaper companies were letting go of their photographers and teaching their reporters to take pictures for their articles using their phones. so neat and unfortunate all rolled up in one!
Deleteit's such a classic one! haha
ReplyDeleteyes! definitely!
DeleteHaha I do remember Hipstamatic but by the time I got an iPhone myself the Instagram train had taken off! Maybe Hipstamatic will make a comeback.
ReplyDelete:) i think hipstamatic and other photo apps give different feels than instagram filters which is why i like using them. but for sharing, for sure, instagram is my go to!
DeleteI still use Hipstamatic and I love love love the double exposure function xx
ReplyDeleteawesome!
DeleteI never knew about it before now! I will definitely check it out. Thanks Jane.

Hahaha, we also played with Hipstamatic but as soon as Instagram went on we kind of cheat on them :P I remember discussions with friends with those firmly sticking to Hipstamatic and the ones with Instagram. I guess both can have their own place in the phone after all ;)
ReplyDeleteI remember Hipsamatic! I used it when it first came out on the iPhone, but I didn't like that they charged you for most of the filters.
ReplyDeleteI've never used Hipstamatic but I think the unique thing about it is that you have to choose the settings before you snap, where as in IG you take the photo first and then apply a filter. Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of hipstamatic but hasn't used it before. I realised that there's so many apps out there. Sometimes, it's hard to choose the best. I think they all have their advantages.
ReplyDeleteOOOooooh ... I need this! :) Thanks for the heads up. Btw, as always I love your shots!!!
