oh the places you'll go.

i got bored one day and created these facebook cover photos and now they've kinda become a thing. now every time i go somewhere, near or far, i try to get in a picture so that i can bookmark it with coordinates to remember.

by far my favorite  has to be the first picture. it was taken in 2010 during our honeymoon in maui. it was right when we arrived on top of haleakala mountain to watch the sunrise. i looked ahead and i just saw this amazing silhouette of a bunch of people waiting.

just so i can live vicariously through you, what are some of the most breathtaking things you saw while traveling?

oh and have a great weekend! yangkyu has a dentist appointment. but he doesn't dread them at all {i envy that part about him}. i am also craving a banana split ice cream! haven't had those in like a zillion years.

  1. I love all of them, Jane:) And travelling, no matter, where, is always such a great experience, eh? Seeing the Eiffel Tower(Paris) and the Hollywood sign(LA) were both awe-inspiring for me, for different reasons.
    Have a fab weekend!

  3. Gorgeous photos and neat idea! I have fond memories of seeing deers walk up close to us while my dad was driving through a windy road in Yosemite, CA. Oh, and the beaches in North Shore in Hawaii were so clean and gorgeous, Danny & I saw a small school of fish come up to our feet! The main crosswalk in Shibuya, Japan was nuts because it was jam packed with people, yet no one bumped into one another. Going to Nagasaki, Japan (my mother's home town) was another favorite of mine, for many reasons.

  7. oh I am so envious of this. We have not traveled much at all and I would love to one day create anything similar. =D In fact, "fun" fact is that we have not yet taken a proper honeymoon! We got married in the midst of a lot of things going on and then time keeps passing. We need to just do it! hehe

  10. That's a really cool way of capturing trips! I've never been out of the country, but I've traveled a lot within the US. I really loved Ocean Drive in Miami and Williamsburg, Virginia.

  16. The mountains are definitely my thing and I can't compare that feeling with anything else, they took my heart forever. A few days ago I tried climbing ferrata and it is also an outstanding feeling. U should try it once!:) And if I think when I was the happiest visiting some other place it was in the hills of Chianti in Italy, beautiful landscape, beautiful summer, beautiful memory. Love ur idea and most probaly it will be aplied on my pictures as well;-) xx

  17. These are so cool and capture the essence of your adventure so beautifully. You went to Jamaica?? Oh I really want to go. I want to walk through Kingston! I want to play dominos and drink rum with old men. I want to dive into the Caribbean seas and I want to mash-up the dance and head into the mountains. Ah Jamaica! One day!

Th most breathtaking sights for me was standing on the edge of the Ngorongoro crater and looking at the moving shadows below. The silhouettes of clouds and elephants mingled in a most mystical way. Seeing sakura for the 1st time in Japan also moved me.

  21. The banners are amazing! :) So are the pics, so so pretty! They would look great as book covers as well. While travelling I got pretty impressed with almost everything, I guess I'm in that "awww" mood all day, hahhaa, but I can recall as really impressive the first view of Ainokura and the first step into Shibuya in Japan, the Grand Canyon and the first time I ever got to see the skyscrapers in NY, both in US.

  23. Oh my gosh Jane! I love these. I would so love to have a go at making them myself for memory keeping. They would def make awesome FB cover photos, they are postcard quality! I've travelled to quite a few countries but I must say the most beautiful and scenic spots are right here in Australia (Uluru, Tasmania, for example)
