My favorite exchange of the day.

Every morning and evening when Yangkyu leaves and comes home from work we have a short exchange. It's roughly translated into English as "I'll be back" and me replying "have a good day" and "I'm home" to which I'll say "welcome home". It's like a little ritual and without fail, as if on cue, is done every weekday. And in-between these exchanges you'll surely find Piri waiting for his kisses {or maybe a peek into Yangkyu's lunch bag} and showering Yangkyu with his welcome home serenade.

  1. I think I've seen a similar exchange before in shows. Ah, I do so love languages and the many needs they fill in their difference :D
Also, aw the Piri goodness <3

  7. It is so important to have sweet exchanges like these as life can get busy and we can forget the simple things like welcoming someone home.... Keeps the bond strong! Such a cute photo!! Nicole xo

  8. I think it's very important to exchange a couple of words to each other every day before we're off to do our own things. Even if it's the usual expected 2 sentence dialogue. For my boyfriend & I, it's usually, "fighting!" or "have a kick ass day!" ;)

  9. this is so sweet. I love these simple but memorable moments of the day. Although my husband and I don't have a dog, I definitely look forward to the simple exchanges we have throughout the day. It's so funny because they aren't ostentatious or weird but, just simple and charming. =)

  14. Awwww!!!! You guys are adorabubble!!!! I think maybe Hiro and I do something similar?

    Hiro says: Itekimasu (I'm leaving)
I say: Itterasshai (go and come back well) I then knock him on the head - just to check that his cycle helmet it working :)

    Then

    Hiro says: Tadaima (i'm home)
I say: Okaeri (welcome home) Otsukaresama (thank you for your hard work)

Somethings sound so weird when I translate them :(

  15. hahaha. I have the same ritual with my boyfriend -only I'm the one who is leaving home (he is working from his home office). And I'm the one who gives a dog kiss for goodbye.

  16. So sweet! I think those little moments make a relationship work, if Dani does not follow the ritual I immediately know something is happening there. A similar thing happens with Juno, if she is not at our door I know she must have vomited on a forbidden place and she is ashamed ;)

  17. When hubs comes home and we're still awake, he'll stand awkwardly at the door and calls out: who loves me?
