a birthday, holiday market, national christmas tree and other weekend things.

hello! hope you all had a great weekend! we squeezed in a birthday, a trip to downtown dc holiday market and viewed the national christmas tree. and the best part? we did this in seventy degree weather. it was kinda crazy over in the east coast where normally it would be pretty cold right now. but i wasn't complaining!

we stayed in for my birthday and had a small dinner. i like having piri by our side. he gets pretty fascinated by candles and it's so cute to see. afterwards we went to watch the hobbit: desolation of smaug. it was great. i was almost tempted to watch it a second time around, but instead we ended up rewatching the first hobbit and the lord of the rings trilogy at home. i remember rewatching the trilogy last year as well. at this rate, by next christmas watching these movies will become a tradition!

on saturday we wished my mama a happy birthday of her own {yes! i was a born a day before her!} and we headed to dc, strolled around the festive streets, grabbed our favorite donuts at the downtown holiday market and caught a sight of the beautiful national christmas tree.

i can't believe christmas is literally around the corner. hope all your presents are wrapped and stockings filled! i can't wait for piri and yangkyu to open their presents {i think i hit the nail on the head this year with yankgyu's present}.

have a wonderful week!
^^ thank you everyone for all your wonderful birthday wishes. i am a sucker for them! and i still get a kick out of making a birthday wish. ^^
^^ one of the reasons why we head out to the holiday market. for migue's magnificent mini donuts. they are so good. so so good. ^^
^^ night view of the us capitol. ^^
^^ dc is really pretty at night, especially during the holidays. ^^
^^ national christmas tree. it's our third year going. here is last year's post. ^^
^^ little christmas trees from all 50 states, district of columbia and us territories surround the big tree. we usually like to go around and find virginia and new york - oh and hawaii just because we would like to live there one day. ha. but this year it was so crowded that we skipped the mini trees. ^^

  13. Your weekend sounded wonderful as usual. Love your pix. And this holiday market reminds me of the ones we have here in NY. I have a couple of friends that have booths at the markets.
