An Afternoon at the National Harbor

During one of our off days at the end of June, Yangkyu, Piri and I packed up our little hatchback and drove a short 25 minutes over to the National Harbor in Maryland to see the ferris wheel. We were just itching to be out to get some sun and walk around, and what a perfect day and place it was to do just that.

There are plenty of shops and eateries {not to mention the all too important public bathroom, that is clean!} and fun things to do like enjoying a ride on the Capital Wheel or the carousel, paddle boat rentals, a farmers market on designated days and movie nights during the summer. There is also a big play area right along the water that is filled with sand that many kids seemed to just love and enjoy. It has a great neighborhood and community feel and while we love the area we live in we wished there was something like this right in our own backyard that provided so many things to do especially during the summer months.

The National Harbor is also accessible via water taxi from Alexandria, Virginia and Washington D.C. {near the Kennedy Center} for most of the year.

Thanks for such a relaxing afternoon, National Harbor! We needed it!
